UPDATE - 3/8/18, 12:50PM: So the last week totally got away from me, so much so that along with not having what I'd planned on sharing this week anywhere near presentable, I also totally forgot to actually share this post more than once on either Facebook or Twitter. So lets try this again, and I'll have some cool stuff to share next week, I promise! Short post this week: I've been running my website, and this blog for about six months now (where did the time go!?!) And while I've gotten better about updating it regularly and I've been slowly fleshing out the rest of the site, there are some things the free metrics don't tell you, and without paying for the site, the simplest way to find out is to ask. So I've got a couple quick questions for all of you who read my blog regularly: What day do you normally find yourself catching my posts on? So far I've been posting new content on Thursdays (or close to it) and then sharing them throughout social media - especially twitter - more or less once a day through the week, leading up to the next Thursday and (usually) the next post. However, some weeks I find myself having trouble coming up with something to write by the time I hit Thursday, and others I get ideas for posts weeks in advance, at the end of the day I probably could make any day work regularly. The question I'm trying to answer is, do I need to be focused on hitting a Thursday deadline, if most of my readers/followers find the link on Monday, for example? Why Thursdays? It happened to be a Thursday when I had the site polished enough to start sharing. Of course I know at the end of the day its not a big deal if I don't get a post out every week. The world doesn't end, and there's no point of writing a blog post if nothing is going on, I'm just trying to figure out when you, my audience, tends to read the blog. So I've made a survey! Thank you for taking that moment - it's helpful to know things like this. And I'm sorry the survey didn't give me the option to turn off the all caps questions, really I'm not yelling at you all.
Anyway - that's it for this week - I've got alot going on between work and other project next week, so that post should be more interesting and you'll definitely see a lot on my social channels (Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat) And as always, thank you for reading - if you have any ideas for something you'd like to see me address in the blog, such as some more insight into one of my past projects, or a my thoughts on a piece of gear you see me commenting on with my social media accounts, please feel free to let me know in the comments below. Of course, be sure to follow me on Twitter and Instagram: @tomameek to see behind the scenes glimpses of what I'm working on (especially when it doesn't justify a full blog post!) And don't forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel - I plan on getting back into my vlog soon, I just keep putting it off because I haven't had the time or enegery - plus I've got some other fun little projects planned. Until next time. -Thomas |
